US to impose tariffs on Chinese chip imports in 2027

The US has delayed imposing tariffs on Chinese semiconductor imports till June 2027. "China's targeting of the semiconductor industry for dominance is unreasonable and burdens or restricts US commerce and thus is actionable," the US Trade Representative said. The tariff rate will be announced at least 30 days in advance, it added.
