US turned to Qatar for secret mediation after Pak-brokered US-Iran talks failed: Report

The interim peace deal between US and Iran that was announced on Sunday was achieved after Qatari mediators spent 17 hours in Iran in final push to secure agreement, FT reported. A team led by senior Qatari negotiators Ali al-Thawadi and Hamad al-Kubaisi secretly travelled to Tehran. The US turned to Qatar for mediation after talks held in Pakistan failed.
