US ultra low-cost Spirit Airlines shut down ops after 33 yrs

US prominent carrier Spirit Airlines has announced the immediate shutdown of its operations after 33 years of service. Known for being an ultra-low-cost carrier, the airline took the major hit following the rise in oil prices and continued pressure on operations. The company, which once operated hundreds of flights daily, will automatically process the refunds to all its customers.
