The US said it wouldn't return to Ukraine the nuclear weapons it surrendered after Soviet Union collapsed. The clarification came after officials suggested that US President Joe Biden could give Ukraine the weapons before leaving office. Ukraine inherited nuclear arms from Soviet Union but gave them up under 1994 agreement in return for security assurances from Russia, US and UK.
