US woman survives rare execution in US, stays alive despite 2 lethal injections
Christa Pike, who would've become first woman to get executed in 200 years in US' Tennessee, has survived two lethal injections administered to her. The 50-year-old, who's on death row since 1996 for killing her 19-year-old classmate, was hospitalised after her heart kept beating. A medical expert said injections didn't take pentobarbital to the required levels in her bloodstream.
