US woman who faked her kidnapping sentenced to 18 months in jail

The 39-year-old California woman who faked her own kidnapping in 2016 has been sentenced to 18 months in prison. Sherri Papini had claimed she was abducted by two Hispanic women, while authorities later found that she had been living with her ex-boyfriend. Papini will have to pay $309,902 in restitution for losses incurred by several agencies, including the FBI.
