US woman who yelled 'I f***ing hate Indians' jailed for hate crime

A 59-year-old woman in US' Texas has been convicted on charges of hate crime for allegedly physically and verbally assaulting several Asian American women in 2022. The woman, Esmeralda Upton, has been sentenced to 40 days in prison. Notably, a clip went viral in 2022 wherein Upton could be seen yelling "I hate you f***ing Indians" at four Indian-origin women.
