USA records highest combined attendance by a FIFA World Cup host

The United States of America (USA) became the FIFA World Cup host nation with the highest combined attendance in history, FIFA announced on Sunday. A total of 80,08,212 fans have attended FIFA World Cup matches in the country, it added. Notably, the USA, which is co-hosting the 2026 tournament with Canada and Mexico, previously hosted the World Cup in 1994.
