US-based company's robot dolphin could replace animals at theme parks
US-based Edge Innovations has designed a robot dolphin which, it hopes, can be used at theme parks instead of wild animals being held in captivity. Animatronics could bring back audiences "turned off by parks using live animals", Edge Innovations Founder Walt Conti said. The dolphin, developed for PETA's TeachKind, weighs 550 pound at 8.5-foot with medical-grade silicone skin.
