Use of coal and other unapproved fuels banned in Delhi-NCR

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has banned the use of coal and other unapproved fuels in industries and commercial establishments in Delhi-NCR. Hotels and restaurants are allowed to use wood or bamboo charcoal for tandoors and grills. The use of low-sulphur coal is also permitted in captive thermal plants. A heavy fine will be levied on the defaulters.
