Users jailbreaking their older Kindles as Amazon ends support

Many Kindle users are reportedly jailbreaking their devices after Amazon announced it would end technical support for older models, limiting them to already-downloaded content. 'Jailbreaking' refers to bypassing Amazon's software restrictions, allowing users to install custom fonts, alternative reading apps and third-party tools. The support for the devices will end from May 20, 2026.
