Uttar Pradesh has imposed a ban on halal-certified products in the state. "In...interest of public health, production, storing, distribution and sale of halal-certified edible items is banned in UP with immediate effect," an order read. This comes after police in Lucknow booked a company and three organisations for providing "illegal halal certificates" to retail products sold in the state.
