Uttarakhand implements 10% quota for EWS in general category

The Uttarakhand government on Wednesday approved 10% reservation in education and employment opportunities for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in general category. An annual family income of less than ₹8 lakh and not owning more than five acres of agricultural land is the criteria defining the bill for EWS. Maharashtra cabinet on Monday approved the implementation of the bill.
