Uttarakhand village hosts full-fledged tree wedding with rituals

A unique cultural ceremony was held in Almora’s Sanoli village, Uttarakhand, where a peepal and a banyan tree were symbolically married following Vedic rituals. The event, attended by villagers and schoolchildren, featured haldi, jaimala, folk music, and traditional feasting. The ceremony marked 15 years since the trees were planted during the Harela festival.
