V Mohana, who fought for women officers' permanent commission in Army, appointed SC judge

Senior Advocate V Mohana, who appeared in the landmark case that secured permanent commission for women officers in the Indian Army, has been appointed as a Supreme Court judge. V Mohana is only the second woman to be directly elevated from the advocate to a Supreme Court judge. She is also the 12th woman to become a Supreme Court judge.
