Vande Mataram India's song, not slogan: Malviya on Tharoor's claim

BJP leader Amit Malviya criticised Congress leader Shashi Tharoor's remarks on playing full rendition of Vande Mataram at official events and said it is India's national song, not a "partisan slogan". "[It's] a foundational symbol of freedom movement," he added. Tharoor had called playing the full rendition of Vande Mataram at beginning and end of official events an "unnecessary imposition".
