Vaseline's founder publicly burnt his hand to showcase his product

Everyone likely used Vaseline. In 1859, Robert Chesebrugh discovered its healing properties studying rod wax in oil fields. After purification, he introduced it in 1872, demonstrating its effects on burns. Despite 13 years to find its market fit, Vaseline became a household staple, acquired by Unilever in 1987.
