Vedantu confirms hack risked the data of 6.87 lakh customers

Bengaluru-based edtech startup Vedantu has confirmed that a data breach in September risked the data of 6.87 lakh of its customers, as per a preliminary probe. Vedantu Co-founder Vamsi Krishna said the hack affected 10% of their user base, with details like emails, names, IP addresses and phone numbers being compromised. No passwords and payment-related information were exposed, he added.
