Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of BG Verghese, a veteran journalist who died on Tuesday. “In Shri BG Verghese, we lost an accomplished writer & an insightful thinker. May his soul rest in peace,” wrote the PM on microblogging site Twitter. Verghese was part of the Editors Guild of India Fact Finding Mission after the 2002 Gujarat riots.
