Vice Media to stop publishing on its site, will lay off hundreds

Vice Media CEO Bruce Dixon, in a memo to staff, said the company will stop publishing content on its website and lay off "several hundred" employees. "It's no longer cost-effective for us to distribute our digital content the way we've done previously," Dixon stated. Vice was sold for $350 million to a consortium after it filed for bankruptcy last year.
