Vidarbha heatwave peaks, rain likely in Mumbai & Pune

Maharashtra is witnessing contrasting weather conditions as Vidarbha faces a severe heatwave with temperatures touching 47.6 degrees celsius in Brahmapuri, triggering red alerts in several districts. Meanwhile, Mumbai, Pune and parts of Konkan may receive pre-monsoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days. IMD expects the southwest monsoon to advance further soon.
