Video of Black girl being ignored at medal ceremony goes viral, Gymnastics Ireland apologises

A video of a Black girl being snubbed at a medal ceremony in Ireland resurfaced and went viral. The video, shot in March 2022, showed a judge handing out participation medals to young white gymnasts, but ignoring the only Black girl. Gymnastics Ireland apologised after the video resurfaced. "What happened...shouldn't have happened and for that we're deeply sorry," it said.
