Video of FM Sitharaman promoting an investment scheme is deepfake

A deepfake video showing Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman promoting an automated system linked to bank accounts which "generates additional income" is circulating online. A reverse image search revealed the original video in which Sitharaman can be seen talking about the Union Budget 2025 and tax reforms. AI-detection tool also concluded that video is AI-manipulated, The Quint reported.
