A video shows a microdrone that hunts and kills mosquitoes mid-air. Built by French startup Tornyol, the 40-gram drone hunts using sonar. It fires ultrasonic pulses and listens to an insect’s wingbeats to identify a mosquito from a bee using tiny microphones and then rams straight into the target, killing the mosquito. The drone is fully autonomous and noiseless.
