Video shows NCERT chief explain removal of 'RSS ban' from books

NCERT chief Dinesh Saklani asserted the deletions of content in textbooks, including references to Mahatma Gandhi's assassination and the ban on RSS that followed, were recommended as part of the rationalisation process last year. He said that if some of the changes were not uploaded on the official website earlier, it might be "a case of oversight".
