Video shows robot snake crawling along power lines in China

A video showed a snake-shaped robot crawling along 10-kilovolt power lines in China's Kunming. Equipped with HD infrared cameras, laser rangefinders and thermal imaging cameras, the robot can capture images, measure temperature and distance and accurately identify potential hazards such as damaged wires and abnormal heat. It reduces manual workload and enables flexible power-line inspections.
