Video shows snake doing cartwheels to escape predators
Scientists have discovered how three species of Southeast Asian dwarf reed snakes cartwheel to escape predators. Researchers recorded 13 snakes performing the manoeuvre, reaching speeds of 1.7-3.7 metres per second, or around 6-13 kmph. The snakes curl, launch themselves briefly into the air and roll forward. The findings reveal coordinated body movements behind this unusual escape technique.
