Vijender Gupta elected Delhi Assembly Speaker through voice vote

BJP MLA from Rohini Vijender Gupta was elected Delhi Assembly Speaker through a voice vote on Monday. His name was proposed by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and backed by Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa. After his election, Vijender was escorted by the CM and the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Atishi to the Speaker's chair, as per House traditions.
