Vikram Doraiswami appointed India's next Ambassador to China

Senior diplomat Vikram Doraiswami has been appointed as India's new Ambassador to China, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Thursday. A 1992 batch Indian Foreign Service officer, he's currently serving as Indian High Commissioner to the UK. He has previously served as Private Secretary to the PM. "He is expected to take up the assignment shortly," the ministry said.
