Vishal TK becomes 1st Indian to clock under 45 seconds in 400m

Indian athlete Vishal TK clocked 44.98s at the National Senior Athletics Federation Competition 2026 in Ranchi. He became the first Indian athlete to clock under 45 seconds in 400m. He broke his own national record of 45.12s set at the Inter-State Championships in 2025. Vishal, however, fell short of the Commonwealth Games 2026 qualifying mark of 44.96s.
