Vodafone Idea appoints Kumar Birla as non-executive chairman

Vodafone Idea Limited appointed Kumar Mangalam Birla as its new non-executive chairman, replacing Ravinder Takkar, effective May 5. Takkar, who had been serving as non-executive chairman, will continue on the board in a re-designated role as vice chairman. The leadership change comes as the company holds talks with lenders to secure debt funding.
