Vogue editor Anna Wintour made a dame by Queen Elizabeth II

Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of fashion magazine Vogue's US edition since 1988, was made a dame by Queen Elizabeth II for her services to fashion and journalism. Wintour said, "It's always wonderful to get an award, but this one is extra special." The British honours system includes conferring the title of dame or knight.
