Volcano in Antarctica emits ₹18.9 crore worth of gold every year
Antarctica's Mount Erebus, the world's southernmost active volcano, releases microscopic particles of pure gold into the air, according to a study. Scientists estimated it emits around 80 grams of gold daily, worth about ₹18.9 crore annually. The gold particles can travel up to 1,000 kilometres before settling on Antarctic ice, scientists discovered.
