German automobile company Volkswagen names many of its car models after wind currents in different parts of the world. For instance, ‘Passat’ means trade winds in German, ‘Vento’ means wind in both Italian and Portuguese. Volkswagen Polo is also reportedly named after Northern Polar winds.
