Voluntary adult sex workers can’t be rescued or detained: SC

The Supreme Court has ruled that voluntary adult sex workers cannot be rescued or detained against their will, stressing that their consent must guide decisions on rehabilitation and protective homes. The court also held that trafficking children for commercial sexual exploitation can attract charges under the POCSO Act, BNS and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
