Voting for Assembly elections in Assam, Puducherry, and Kerala across 296 seats is underway under tight security. Over 700 candidates are in the fray for 126 Assembly seats in Assam, while 294 candidates are contesting the 30 Legislative Assembly seats in the Union Territory of Puducherry. Over 800 candidates are in the fray for 140 Assembly seats in Kerala.
