Walking robots could speed up life search 3x on Mars: Scientists
Researchers tested a semi-autonomous robot on a Mars-like surface, which completed missions up to three times faster than traditional methods. The four-legged robot 'ANYmal' was used at the 'Marslabor' facility, moving from rock to rock at the University of Basel. This environment simulates planetary surface conditions using analogue rocks and 'regolith' (planetary dust) materials.
