Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday told Lok Sabha that Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, will be called Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development (UMEED) Bill. "After seeing arrangements proposed under the Bill, there will be 'umeed' (hope) in everyone's mind...because a new dawn is coming," said Rijiju. Major changes in managing Waqf properties has been brought, he added.
