Was he growing it out of passion?: HC judge on man booked for growing cannabis in backyard

After a 67-year-old man's lawyer told Karnataka High Court that he was booked for cultivating cannabis and not consuming or selling it, Justice M Nagaprasanna, who was visibly amused, said, "Why was he growing it? Out of passion?" The lawyer said the cannabis grew "on its own from cross-pollination". The man allegedly grew 27 kg of cannabis in his backyard.
