Was like a coup, it was suppressed: Khamenei on anti-govt protests
Iran Supreme Leader Khamenei, speaking about recent anti-government protests, said on Sunday that it was "like a coup". "They (rioters) attacked the police, government centres, IRGC centres, banks, and mosques, and burned the Koran," he stated. Notably, at least 3,000 people were killed in the protests in Iran. He added it will be a "regional war" if US attacks Iran.
