Actor Hrithik Roshan said he thought his father Rakesh Roshan was making 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai' with Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan and was shocked when his father revealed he was making this with Hrithik. Hrithik stated he got to know this when Rakesh was writing the story of the film. 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai' released in 2000.
