Waste liquid from Tofu, dairy products can help trap carbon: Study

A study conducted by ETH Zurich found that protein-rich waste liquid from tofu or dairy production can be used to make beads that capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Researchers said the beads can be made by combining dairy waste byproducts with potassium hydroxide. They extracted 97 milligrams of carbon dioxide from the air with one gram of protein beads.
