WB CM announces ₹10,000 monthly pension for protestors jailed in Emergency

West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari announced a monthly pension programme of ₹10,000 for 325 people who were sent to jail for protesting during Emergency. "The new state government stands on the ideals of these brave soldiers," Adhikari said while announcing the programme. Emergency was declared on June 25, 1975, at midnight, on PM Indira Gandhi's order.
