WB CM Mamata lays foundation of Durga Angan, says 'I am secular'

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone of Durga Angan, a 17.28-acre temple complex dedicated to Goddess Durga, at New Town in Kolkata. Taking a jibe at the BJP, she said, "Many people say that I engage in appeasement, but I'm secular and believe in all religions." UNESCO recognised Durga Puja as 'Intangible Cultural Heritage' in 2021.
