WB govt moves SC against release of 1993 Bowbazar blast convict

The West Bengal government on Thursday moved the Supreme Court challenging the premature release of life convict Rashid Khan in the 1993 Bowbazar blast case. The Delhi High Court had ordered Khan's release on June 5, saying he had undergone sufficient punishment. Khan was convicted in 2001 for his role in the Bowbazar blast that killed 69 in Kolkata.
