WB's ex-BDO, evading arrest in murder case, held for drunk driving

Prashant Barman, ex-Block Development Officer of Jalpaiguri's Rajganj who was on the run in a 2025 murder case of a businessman, was arrested in Kolkata after allegedly driving drunk and hitting a pedestrian with his car. A video purportedly showed him arguing with bystanders after the incident. During verification, police identified the driver as Barman and subsequently arrested him.
