We aim to develop 200 chip-design startups under Semicon 2.0: Govt

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the government will target at least 200 startups and companies designing chips in India under next phase of the semiconductor mission, Semicon 2.0. He said chip design will be the first of the mission's six pillars. This comes after Semicon 1.0 was launched in 2022 and 12 semiconductor manufacturing projects were approved across India.
