We are responsible for only 10 out of 16 deaths due to rain, says Mumbai Mayor

Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, when asked about 16 rain-related deaths, said, "BMC could be held responsible only for 10 of those deaths, and not remaining six." Referring to six deaths after a chawl collapsed amid heavy rain, she said the land wasn't under BMC's jurisdiction. Illegal houses came up there with SP MLA Abu Azmi's blessings, she claimed.
