After Cape Verde reached the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockouts, the team's 40-year-old goalkeeper Vozinha said, "We are small...but we have big hearts and we are fighters." Cape Verde are the smallest nation to have qualified for the knockouts in the tournament history. They are also the first debutants to make FIFA World Cup knockout stage since Slovakia in 2010.
