Former Libyan PM Colonel Muammar Gaddafi was killed by rebels in Sirte while hiding in drainage pipes after a NATO strike hit his convoy, on October 20, 2011. The then-US State Secretary Hillary Clinton had commented, "We came, we saw, he died", after Gaddafi's death. The NATO had supported rebels to enforce UN resolutions against human right violations in Libya.
